Amboseli Safaris, Amboseli tours, Wildlife Safaris Amboseli, Lodge Safaris Amboseli, Road Safaris Amboseli-Fly Past Majestic Kilimanjaro …......Amboseli is 300 kilometers from the coast and one hour by air but six to seven hours of hard road travel. Amboseli National Park is the longest established, the most dramatic but also the smallest of Kenya’s wildlife reserves. Wildlife there is very concentrated and therefore easily viewed, making this one of Kenya’s more popular parks, especially with children. Amboseli is an evocative place of harsh yet timeless beauty with constant change and contrast-To explore the Beauty of Amboseli National Park and spectacular views of Mt Kilimanjaro take our Amboseli Safaris, Lodge Safaris Amboseli or Camping Safaris to Amboseli National Park . Compressed within an area of only 390 square kilometers, the park is a study of adjoining eco-systems with lava rock thorn-bush country, open plains, swamps, marshes, sulfur springs and Lake Amboseli which is a dry salt pan that turns into a shallow lake once every few years depending on annual rainfall. In recent years a new lake appeared on the grass-plains, complete with flamingos and other lake and riverine bird species …… Amboseli is regularly changing its appearance.
Amboseli lies a few miles north of the largest of East Africa’s volcanoes…..Mt Kilimanjaro and also at the southernmost reach of the rangelands of Kenya’s famous cattle ranching warrior tribe…the Masai. During the dry season long lines of cattle trail dust clouds as they march in singe file across the dry lake bed, now outside the park boundary. Such a scene, shimmering in a heat haze with the snow of Kilimanjaro soaring in a blue sky makes time stand still. Here it is easy to believe you are at the cradle of mankind, next to the tree where man was born. Famous authors, such as Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark were inspired by the beauty of Amboseli.Amboseli is a place where underground springs, fed by the snowmelt of Africa’s highest mountain, regenerates lush green growth but at the same time helps raise an alkaline water-table that poisons the roots of the acacia trees and so destroys local forests by killing the roots.

This process is enthusiastically accelerated by a large population of resident Elephant that continue the acacia attack above ground with equally irresistible force.Amboseli has a large population of wildlife, and is well known for its Elephant herds and superb variety of birdlife. All of this makes Amboseli a photographer’s paradise. Be prepared for dust and heat.
Because of its small size, we recommend a one night stay as sufficient to fully enjoy Amboseli
