GAME
DRIVES/GAME VIEWING:
The game drive/ game viewing is the standard mode of wildlife
viewing in the African national parks, concession, where both
regulations and safety considerations restrict exploration on
foot. Conditions are ideal for vehicular safaris; rising
savanna fame country from the security and comfort of a car,
you will encounter a large number and variety of animals
simply by chance. Game drives in most of the parks are always
invigorating: you may go from one species to the next –
observing zebra here, giraffe there, a knot of impala on the
right, a trio of elephant bulls ahead. However, there is
really no guarantee on what you will see; the animals are free
to move around as they please and may
even pass beyond park boundaries. |

DRIVER GUIDES:
Each safari group will be accompanied by the best
driver-guides with expert knowledge in wildlife and other
areas of tourist interest. The driver-guides are continually
under training on subjects as varied as the maintenance of
safari vehicles,client’s safety, the mating habits of various
species, preservation and conservation, general knowledge and
foreign languages:

Day 1: Arusha –
Lake Manyara
Pick up from the hotel at around 0900am. Thereafter drive to
Lake Manyara National Park for the Game drive. Lake Manyara
National Park, famous for its tree climbing lions and large
flocks of flamingoes. The park contains five distinct
vegetation zones and is of scenic beauty. Picnic Lunch will be
served in the Park/Hot Lunch at the camp. Drive to the
plunging walls of the great rift valley where lies Lake
Manyara National Park the Hemingway camped in the hunting
safari that inspired his book, Green hills of Africa.
Afternoon Game drive in the Park. Late afternoon drive to Lake
Manyara Twiga campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro
Breakfast at around 0600am. Take Picnic Lunch with you and
descend the Ngorongoro Crater floor for the Game drive. View
the various resident animals on the crater floor. The largest
unbroken caldera in the world, Ngorongoro has an area of 260
kilometers and a depth of 610 meters. The crater provides a
protected habitat for thousands of mammals and birds. The
entire day is spent on the crater floor viewing lion, hyena,
wildebeest, zebra, black rhinoceros, and many species of small
antelopes. The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area is located
between the Serengeti and Lake Manyara. It is home to the
famous Ngorongoro Crater which is the largest unbroken caldera
in the world. The Crater is a spectacular setting in which to
experience your African safari. Some scientists maintain that
before it erupted, Ngorongoro Crater – the largest intact
caldera in the world – would have been higher than Mount
Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa. Covering a mere
260 square kilometers (100 square miles), the 600 meter (1969
foot)-deep Crater is home to a permanent population of more
than 30 000 animals. It is one of the few places in Africa
where you stand a very good chance of seeing the Big Five
(lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) in the course of
a game- drive. The local Maasai have permission to graze their
cattle on the Crater floor, and it is not unusual to see
Maasai cattle and buffalo grazing together with lion mere
meters away. There are around 1000 lions in the Crater,
approximately 20 black rhino, and the spectacular Lerai Forest
is one of the best places in Africa to spot leopard. This is
one of the natural wonders of the world. Picnic Lunch in the
Crater. Afternoon before 0430pm drive to Simba Campsite where
for the night full board.

Day 3: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park
Breakfast at around 0630am. Depart for Serengeti with lunch en
route. On arrival, proceed for a game drive. The park covers
12,944km2 of open plains making it one of the largest in the
world. The rocky outcrops commonly known as Moru kopjes in the
eastern part of the park are of scenic beauty and occasionally
cats can be seen lazing on them. The park contains vast herds
of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other antelopes. Dinner and
overnight at the Seronera Campsite.

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti Park
Very early Game drive in the vast Serengeti plains. Breakfast
at around 0900am. Proceed with morning and afternoon game
drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the
camp in the mid afternoon. The term Serengeti means endless
plains in Maasai language. In the central plains there are
carnivores like leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah. This park is
normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and
zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti.
Varied bird species can be seen here including eagles, ducks,
geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons,
kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. Dinner and overnight
at the Seronera campsite.

Day 5: Serengeti – Arusha
Very early Breakfast at around 0600am. Proceed with another
game drive en route to Arusha. Arriving in Arusha where you
will choose the hotel and be dropped.
