Junior Suites
Junior Suites are available on all three floors. They have super king-sized beds, large baths, as well as showers and a lounge area.
Executive suites
In addition to the ongoing refurbishment of our bathrooms, we are pleased to announce the complete refurbishment of two of our suites. Located on the first floor, Green Hills and Key West have been upgraded from Junior Suites to Executive, by providing a separate bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and an open plan lounge and dining area.
The rooms have been individually furnished to the highest standard using hand made pieces designed by Armando Tanzini and Charles Tyle, with original paintings by Lisa Dickinson. In a slight departure from the norm at Hemingways, the flooring of the living and bedroom area is to be finished in a dark hardwood, rather than a ceramic tile, thus giving the rooms even more individuality. Both suites will have satellite television.

|
As with the refurbishment of all our bathrooms, tiles, marbles and fixtures have all been imported and finished to the highest standards, however in Green Hills and Key West we have gone a stage further, incorporating "His & Hers " basins, "Step" in corner baths, Bidets and an Extra large shower.
For those wishing to entertain in their room, a kitchenette / service area has been incorporated, along with a guest cloakroom and shower. A further facility is the optional use of a superior room adjacent with inter-connecting doors to accommodate children or family.

Wining and Dining:
We take our food very seriously using the finest ingredients. Menu designed by Omar Menhouk. Omar joined Hemingways as executive Chef in September 2004, from internationally aclaimed resort of Sun City in South Africa. Influences from Africa, Eastern and Arabia and prepared to western standards.
We offer a wide range of international styles, ranging from sophisticated recipes with delicate sauces to simple cooking of the finest ingredients.
We have our own farms at Lake Naivasha and Timau in Nanyuki, with fresh vegetables and flowers flown in on a daily basis, whilst our own fishing boats bring fresh fish for the kitchen daily.
Over the centuries the influences of the trading routes have brought a medley of cooking styles to Africa. Couple these with the best seafood, mangrove crabs, lobster, and fish of all types, and our chefs really have the opportunity to excel.
Our 'table d’hote' menus are a mixture of international and local favourites, with daily vegetarian options. We are always happy to offer second portions and to cater for the large appetite or for specific dietary needs. |
|
We have buffets on Wednesday and Saturday evenings and Sunday Curry Dinner and these include Mongolian, Italian and Indian specialities. Live cooking is a major feature including not only main dishes but also our pasta and salad stations.
During the calmer months (November to March) dinner is served on the terrace, with the sounds of the sea, the light of the moon and the stars, and the rustle of the trade winds in the palms for company.
And for those who fish, our Chefs will prepare your catch exactly as you would like it. You might fancy Japanese style sashimi, finely sliced with soya sauce and wasabi, or maybe blackened Cajun style fillets, or just simply steamed! Which ever way, you will never eat fish fresher than this.
Half board (dinner and breakfast) is included in your package, and a sample menu is shown below.
We also offer an a La Carte menu, with some examples of our seafood specialities in the link at the foot of this page.
