Kilima Camp is located in Kenya on the western border of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Kilima Camp has been built on a private concession bordering the current boundary, the official perimeter of the Mara Triangle Wilderness Area (one of the tree contiguous administrative areas forming what is known as the Masai Mara National Reserve also called the Masai Mara).
Kilima means "mountain or little hill in Swahili". Kilima Camp is situated on the edge of the Siria escarpment (also called Oloololo escarpment) at 1,800 metres above sea level, overlooking the Mara River The Mara River and the Masai Mara plains are at an altitude of 1,500 metres. Hence Kilima Camp has a fantastic and phenomenal view over the Masai Mara plains and the river Mara, truly “the Gods’ window”
Kilima Camp offers unrivaled aerial views across the Masai Mara and the river Mara, allowing guests to appreciate the enormity of their surroundings. Kilima Camp's exclusive position provides a natural degree of privacy. Kilima Camp’s enviable location also offers guests the chance to discover local wildlife as well as learning about Masai customs and traditions on a variety of nature walks originating from the proximity of the camp.
With the entrance to the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Mara Triangle (Oloololo Gate) and local airstrip (Kichwa Tembo) just a fifteen minute drive away, Kilima Camp is not only easy to reach but also the perfect base from which to explore the Masai Mara plains and its wildlife.
Camp Facilities
Kilima Camp is a luxurious private safari tented camp. Kilima Camp is an eco-friendly safari camp but it does not mean a compromise in comfort. Kilima Camp consists of twelve safari tents or standard tents (twin or double) and two Deluxe Tents (which ca sleep up to 5 persons) . All  tents at Kilima Camp benefit from a fabulous view over the Masai Mara plains (Maasai Mara plains) and Mara river.

The 12 standard tents are stylish and spacious and complete with their very own verandahs and en-suite bathrooms.Our standard Double or Twin safari tents are very comfortable and fitted with very large and comfortable beds. Our satrdard safari tents can also accommodate a third person (child up to 16 yrs) in a camp bed. In any standard safari tent at Kilima Camp, the bathrooms are fitted with flush toilets, running water and a safari shower with hot water upon request. We also have a baby cot and bady bed if needed

Our 2 Deluxe tents are even more comfortable and bigger than our standard tend. They can sleep up to 5 persons (3 adluts and 2 children). They is a large wooden deck from which our guest can relax and admire our amazing view. The bathrooms are fitted with flush toilets, running hot  and cold water and running hot shower.
The understated elegance and luxury of each safari tent provides guests with a comfortable and relaxing environment in which to unwind after an adventurous day on safari.
The spacious central main safari tent (mess tent) is Kilima Camp's meeting place where guests gather to eat, drink, talk, play games, read, or just enjoy the view before of after a safari in the Maasai Mara (game drive). Traditionally, our manager will discuss with our guests, before or after your dinner in the central main safari tent area, the mess tent, the programme for your next day, as to better respond to your specific interests and wishes.
A charging facility is available in the central main safari tent (mess tent) for chargeable batteries, laptops, cameras and cell phones. There is also a small gift shop in the reception area.
Our chef has extensive experience managing kitchens in luxurious safari tented camp and provides you with excellent international cuisine, supplemented by a selection of fine wines.
Usually lunch is served in the mess tent either “a la Carte”, for groups smaller than ten people or we arrange a rich buffet for larger groups.
Dinner is served under canvas in the dining area of the main safari tent or under the stars, weather permitting.
When the weather permits, dinner is served outside below the African stars. Soup of the day served at the table, then buffet with African specialties: spit roasted goat or lamb. This is a traditional meal, usually cooked by the Maasai for special event and it will be cooked in the wood fire in front of our guests. The meal is served with a selection of vegetables and sides, including Ougali, made of Manioc and African bread, the renowned Chapati, similar to the Indian bread.
Before and after dinner, relax by the camp fire, or at our very special bush bar, or around one of the sundowners and listen to the magical sounds of the African bush - all this under the spectacular African sky where the stars seem brighter than anywhere else!
