Lake Naivasha is one of the fresh water lakes along the rift valley and offers a superb birding site with lake fringed by the Papyrus on the shores and the Acacia woodland habitats supplemented by the dormant volcanoes of Mt. Longonot, Mt. Day 3. Lake Nakuru .
Lake Nakuru National Park is termed as the "the greatest ornithological spectacle in the world" with both Lesser and the Greater Flamingoes sometimes exceeding 1.5 million individuals. The alkaline habitat supports thousands of resident and migratory waterfowl. The alkaline lake, acacia woodland, grassland, rivers and inlets with marshes hold over the 450 species of birds recorded. Some of the common birds includes, the Little Grebe, Great White Pelican, Black-winged Stilt, Gull-billed, Whiskered Tern, Grey- headed Gull, Cape and Red-billed Teal, Southern Pochard, Long-crested, and African Crowned Eagle, White-fronted Bee-eater, Arrow Marked Babbler, Little Rock Thrush, Wailling Cisticola, Ruppell's Long-tailed Starling, Lilac Breasted Roller, Cliff Chat and many species of waders.

We leave in the morning and head for Lake Baringo with a stop at the Nyahururu Waterfalls, there are possibilities of sighting Chestnut-Winged Starlings, Slender billed starling, Rock Martin, Grey cuckoo shrike around the waterfalls.Proceed on by road into the Great Rift Valley and onto Lake Bogoria National Park.The Reserve's herd of the rare Greater Kudu makes it unique and other game to view.The south shore of Lake Bogoria has acacia-ficus woodland and to the north is a papyrus swamp.Birds unique to this area include, Congregatory of Lesser and Greater flamingo, Steppe eagle, Curlew Sand piper,Black necked grebe and Black headed Plover.

Today we leave lake Baringo and head to Kakamega forest an equatorial rain forest which habours a variety of bird, animal, and plant species including an array of primates.

among others.

After Breakfast depart southwards to the shore's of Lake Victoria, our bird walk will be focusing on the Dunga beach Swamp this site is home to one of the most reliable sites in Kenya for the scarce and threatened papyrus yellow warbler. Papyrus Gonolek, Swamp fly catcher, Marsh Tachgra, Jacksons golden backed weaver, Red chested sunbird, Sedge warbler, Carruthers's Cisticola, Southern red bishop, Northern brown throated weaver, Greater swamp warbler.

Day 13 & 14. Masai Mara
Two full days in the Masai, the extensive grasslands are a strong hold to the threatened, migratory Corncrake and the near threatened Jackson's widowbird. The bush and woodlands around the reserve also hold some unique bird species,more than 450 bird species have been recorded in the Mara, including 12 species of cisticola and birds of prey.
Large numbers of palaerctic migrants winter in the area including Caspian plovers and white storks.

Leave Sweetwaters after breakfast and you drive (3hours)to the north rugged semi desert region arriving in time for lunch at lodge. Afternoon game drive and birds commonly seen in this region include the Bristle-crowned Starling,Vereaux's Eagle-owl, Night Heron, Palm-Nut Vulture (sometimes called the South African Fish-Eagle) and Pygmy Falcon;Verreaux's Eagle can be seen soaring over the hills in the park. Donaldson-Smith's Sparrow Weaver which is fairly common in some locations.
