Mbweni Ruins offers its guests exclusive accommodation in 13 suites that cater for no more than 30 guests providing that special retreat of peacefulness and calmness, in close proximity to the swimming pool and secluded beach.
All the rooms also provide a balcony with table and chairs that overlook the azure waters of the Indian Ocean and the landscaped gardens down below.
All suites have been furnished in distinctive Zanzibarian style, with oriental rugs, four poster beds and furnishings fit for a Sultan, which echo the many cultural flavors that have influenced the Swahili Coast. All suites are equipped with mosquito nets, ceiling fan, air conditioning, mini bar, balcony and en suite bathroom facilities with hot and cold water.

Mbweni Ruins Raintree Restaurant is set on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean and offers delicious combinations of International and Zanzibarian food.
The crystal clear fresh water pool on the edge of the beach connects the rooms to the restaurant and bar, where traditional spicy foods and a panoply of seafood delicacies await the discerning diner. Food is well prepared and enjoyable as the chefs use only fresh market produce and seafood specialties from the Indian Ocean.
Mbweni Ruins provides a full English breakfast, combined with a buffet of island fruits, yoghurt and cereals, freshly squeezed fruit juices and a selection of herbal teas. At lunchtime guests can sample one of our specially prepared salads or explore the extensive menu while dinner is best enjoyed on the beach with a romantic barbecue.
